Our groups definition Question:What is teenage drinking?
It is when teenagers drink for the fun of it not
knowing the dangers of alcohol.
*Alcohol is the most dangerous drug.*Kills the most people.*Liver can get damaged.
*Addicting.

Why/When/Where do people drink?
Why: People drink to have a good time with friends (fit in). It also helps people feel less shy , But mostly because drinking helps them to enjoy themselves. Alcohol can be addictive. When people get addicted to alcohol they often need help to get off the alcohol and go to counscelling. Scientists say that if someone in you family was a achoholic their is more chance that you will be a acholic, then some one who diddnt have a acholic in their family.
When: People drink at night usally with friends at at some day parties. Some people drink achol in the morning., Some acholics have it with brekfast cereal instead of milk which is really gross! After a hot day people like a cold beer as they come home from work.
Where: Teenagers who are under 18 get their alcohol off their parents and take it to parties to look cool. While people over 18 spend weekend nights at bars till they either drink themselves silly or till the bar shuts early in the morning, around 2-3 am. Adults drink while watching rugby or when they have friends over. After work :)

Is Teenage drinking making a happier community?
When teenagers drink to early hours of the morning and don't have a sober driver often spend the night sleeping in the gutter or doing illegal activity, If you live close to a bar that closes early in mornings you might notice that the drunk teens make quite alot of noise. While the teenagers are having a great time it isn't for the rest of us trying to sleep. you might ger harressed by 1 of the drunks, you never no what might happen. the younger teens who get alcohol from parties need to learn how to respect alcohol and not do what the older people do. What are the effects of teenage drinking?
Teen alcohol can cause family problems. Teens who use alcohol may run away from the family and have difficulty with family relationships. They may demonstrate behavioral problems as well. There are also health risks involved with alcohol use. People today are well aware of the health problems caused by to much alcohol use. Health problems can include stomach ulcers, liver problems, heart problems, and malnutrition. These mainly occur to people hwo have drunk over a long time not so much to teenagers. Alcohol may also serve as a “gateway drug” into more serious drug use. Once teens have decided alcohol use is ok, they may feel other drugs are also okay. Impaired judgment may also lead to the trying with other drugs (marajuana, cocaine etc...) Also alcohol is one of the most addicting drugs around as listed up the top of this page.

How has lowering the drinking age effected/ing our socitey?
After the National Youth Rights Association had a debate to lower the drinking age, nothing to bad has happend their has been a few times where cops had to get riot gear and more younger people 18-20 have been put behind bars overnight then ever before.

What can We do?
*Write to council to Put up more liqour ban area signs
*close bars earlier before the people get to drunk
*Get the cops involved when things get out of hand
*Make the legal limit of alochol lower so the teens cant get over drunk
and get into to fights and make a hassle for people around them
we can do do this by writing to the parliment.

Overall
Kids need to learn respect with alcohol it is more dangerious then you think. 250000 people have died from alchol releated problems or crashes in the past 10 years.5338 age 16 to 20 died in cars in 2007, the statistics dont pull out teeenage drinking but list that 1/3 of all deaths involved alcohol.
